MORE THAN 1,800 ATHLETES FROM THE ENTIRE STATE OF ARIZONA WILL COMPETE at mesa's arizona athletic grounds
Special Olympics Arizona is kicking off one its biggest competitions of the year, the 2024 Basketball and Cheer State Games, which will feature more than 1,800 SOAZ athletes statewide showcasing their skills in Basketball and Cheer. Competitions will take place Friday, March 8 and Saturday March 9 at the Arizona Athletic Grounds sports and entertainment complex in Mesa.
Basketball events will take place both Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., while Cheer competitions will take place on Saturday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Additionally, Healthy Athletes will offer health-related programming on both Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., along with a special Sensory Room that will be available to athletes to use in their downtime on both Friday and Saturday as well (9 a.m. – 2 p.m.).
Friends, family and fans are encouraged to support all the athletes throughout the 2-day event and to cheer on all of these great competitors in action. SOAZ merchandise also will be available for purchase from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day to help support Special Olympics Arizona.
